Questo contributo considera alcune implicazioni del progresso tecnologico sul ruolo sociale delle persone, mostra come il sapere sia un set di proprietà e capacità da agire, di come dovremo imparare a convivere con l’incertezza crescente e, infine, di come scelte tempestive possano far volgere in positivo molti degli aspetti nuovi, che spaventano perché sconosciuti e non governati.

Many signals announce profound changes. A complex society will require people with exceptional skills. Over the next twenty years 50% of jobs are at risk of replacement by a machine, a re-engineering of the process, a new technology or interaction between one of these! We will no longer need a wide workforce but an amazing workforce.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
